Headlight adjustment

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Headlight adjustment

Post by raccoon »

Hi all, hope everything is ok. I have been trying to see how to alter my headlights. My off side one is high. The electric adjuster is working on both because I can see them move when I turn the knob in the car. Reading my book it is very vague about the process and when I look in the car I cannot see the screws to do the adjusting. Is it done from inside the bonnet or outside. Any advice will be gratefully recieved.

There's an allen screw on top of the headlights which you need to poke through a hole in the metal bodywork to get at... Sorry I can't be any more descriptive - my memory's a bit vague...

I went down to the garage that done my MOT and they adjusted then at the time (november last year) told him I was not happy with the off side one. He put it on the machine and dropped it to where it should be. No charge. Trouble is I dont like complaining but when its something I have not done its different.

It was the garage who adjusted it on its MOT. He said it was out of alignment at the time. I think thats why he never charged me anything to do it.

inever had a car yet in the past 2 yrs that hasnt failed on headlights,
even same car with same tester fails,

perhaps when you pay them to adjust them they leave one slightly out perhaps ?
not saying thats true tho,

or are the lights prone for going out of alighn - cobble roads holes in roads speed humps cause it Maybe

Never had this with pre - year 2000 motors :?
