Hi
Ordered a new wheel bearing on Ebay last week made by Firstline which is a good make. Theres been a slight delay with the post and the bearing has just arrived this morning. Guess what the part they sent isn't a firstline bearing it's made by Veco? I've heard of them in the past they make discs and pads just wondering if anyone knows if their wheel bearings are any good? I've sent a message telling the supplier they should make it 100% clear if they are not supplying an exact part. For some people OE is best for a part like this as i've found out. reading the listing it does say in small print that unless you specifically ask for the frontline bearing you will get an equivalent part. Has anyone fallen foul of this. I'm quite annoyed now. I guess i'll have to fit the Veco bearing and hope for the best.............

Re: Ebay Parts
I hate scams like that!!!. I'n afraid I cant comment on the quality of the bearing.
I may be wrong. But I would hazzard a guess the seller currently has none of the make you thought you were buying in stock
I would send it back and ask for a refund. What was his feedback like?

Hi
Thats exactly what the supplier said they had ran out of firstline bearings which they claimed were dearer than the one advertised. Ebay trader has 99.4% rating and sold 23260 parts so far 85 negative comments over the last year out of 13641 sales which isn't too bad with that amount of turnover i suppose. I've run out of time to send it back so i'll have to fit the one they sent which definately fits my 406 hdi i've only got today and tommorow to get this done.
There was another ebayer selling the same thing for £18 including p&p. Paid £7 over the odds so yeah i think it is a bit of con. This only seems to happen on ebay. lol

Re: Ebay Parts
So far so good spoke to ebay supplier and part is OE spec and definatley fits the car, got the hub off the car this afternoon, everything came off relatively easily bottom balljoint, track rod end, strut, discs and pads. Used a bit of copaslip on the threads last time and it seems to work a treat just gave the bottom arm a bash with the lump hammer and the balljoint pops out easy same thing with the track rod end. The hub is going up to the garage tommorow morning to have the new bearing pressed in for £10.00 plus £25.00 for the bearing so not too bad on my pocket beats 2hrs labour plus garage part( with marked up price) .CV boot is also getting done while its in bits spotted a small tear in it. Then put it all back together for teatime. lol
