Hello Lozz
Regarding my stuck rear door problem, you mentioned having destroyed door mechs in the past. What technique do you use?
My pug dealer claims there is no release pin on the actuator and is quoting £340 to smash the old one off and fit a new one.
Price of a new pug mech alone is £145 inc. A local autoelectrics firm is offering a central locking diagnostic check
for £30 inc to eliminate that as a possible fault before I resort to the hammer - but I reckon I can smash off the old one just as well
as the dealer. What tools did you use? Many thanks

Wow, thats a bit of ahefty price,
ive just smashed all the plastic housing around them, until you can get at the insides, just destroy all the casing and prize the inside mech until door releases,
isugest you grab a replacement first,
small hammer and old screwdrivers is what iused,
altho it wasnt a peugeot ihad to do this on it was a fiat stilo
* Q, can you get access to the plug connector if you can, go to a breakers yard, liberate a plug with a good bit of wire, plug it into yours and see if you can send a 12v supply to it see if it will open, it might save you the hastle of smashing it to bits if it wouid open hot-wired

Thanks a lot pal. I have just got a replacement mech from scrappy (no1pugspares ebay) and will have a go at bashing off the old one. First
I'll try, as you suggest, and test with a 12 volt supply usng the bayonet connector plus bit of wire which came along with the replacement mech.
Peugeot stealers are really taking the p*** these days aren't they? I'd rather SORN the car than pay their prices although to be fair my local Pug
non-franchised garage in Southampton did offer to install my own replacement for about £40 plus VAT.
Thanks very much for that - great stuff!
