Right Full beam won't work

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Right Full beam won't work

Post by dgt »

Hi all :)

I have a 98 1.9td I got recently.

It has a few issues that I'm sorting one at a time!

My right full beam refuses to work. After thinking it was the fuse, I changed the bulb twice but nothing. Got out a test lamp and there's no power coming to the wires.

Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

Thanks 8)

If one side works I'd guess that rules out the stalk.

Can't remember which fuse it is off the top of my head but it's in the engine bay, I'd be double checking that first of all. Fit a new fuse so you know it's good then check it again afterwards to make sure it's not blowing it.
(Apologies for the egg sucking lesson but if you're like me a forget the basics most of the time)

The fuse in mine miraculously disappeared between me dropping the car off for MOT and the tester checking the lights......God works in mysterious ways!!!!!

After that it's a case of tracing the wiring backwards looking where it has power and looking for damaged wires. Can't help any more I'm afraid.
