Turbo unit wanted for 110 406 HDI

Post by pugface406lx »

Hi everybody,

Im fairly sure my turbo is up the creek on my W reg 2.0 HDI as it doesnt kick in properly and has been acting up for ages....from low down revs it just doesnt operate correctly, sometimes it stutters and jumps and under full throttle operation feels flat as though its not there at all which can be dangerous when pulling away.....its only after 3000 revs that the car takes off!
Ive replaced MAFF sensor, also little Denso sensor near bonnet slam panel and had the diagnostics on it which keeps coming up with Boost Pressure as a problem. The symptoms are indidcating to me the Turbo is defective!
Does anyone have one that they know is good which the no longer want please??

Regards
Puggy

I would try replacing the solenoid vacuum controller first which is on the engine bulkhead, there are a pair of them, the other controls the EGR valve. I had similar problems and mine was faulty. Try to avoid secondhand ones on ebay as they are just as likley to be faulty, best option is to borrow a known worker.
