Jtd engines

Post by lozz »

Hi all
as anyone here had a car with a 1.9 Jtd engine,
ive been using a 1.9 punto, Theres no power in it, its like a Moped (quicker to walk!)
are these Engines normaly slow, or do you Rekon its Fubard,

For a 16valve lump i half expected it to be a pocket rocket especialy as its sat in a punto,

One of the worst cars ive ever owned, i carnt wait to dump this thing :(

Cheers welly.

Tbh. from what ican see.theres no sighn of a Turbo,
theres not much room in there to look properly, iwill have to get it up in the air and have alook,

Google says its a 90bhp, but its a 16v lump, :?

And its on the high rate Tax,so it carnt be a 90bhp,

gets me why they slapped a big derv engine in coke can, idont see the point of it,
and its crap on fuel, 34mpg ish

ive got a Few gallon of cooking oil, iwonder if it will run on it, :cheesy:

Looks like its Fubard :(

The Multijet second generation features a common-rail design and is available with five different power outputs. The 8-valve version has 100 PS (74 kW; 99 hp), 120 PS (88 kW; 120 hp) or 130 PS (96 kW; 130 hp), the last two with variable geometry turbocharger; and the 16-valve version has 150 PS (110 kW; 150 hp) or 170 PS (130 kW; 170 hp).

its deffo 16v as its twin cam,

alot of Horses missing,

anyone want any fiat parts,

If it's supposed to be 150bhp you'd know by now :o

I think it's running off-boost but don't know where you'd start without getting a good diagnostic on it :?

Is it marked in the book as a JTD or just D?
The 'my car check@ app, or website can give you the specs of a car using the reg and it will let you know the bhp, aspiration, etc

Have a look at the fuel pump, if it's bosch theres a good chance it will but you need to find out if it's got a lift pump and if it's indirect injection.
