Airbag module

My car (2001 3L 24V coupe) apparently needs a new side airbag module control (part no. 6545JQ). The Peugeot service centre near me can't find a supplier so I was wondering if anyone knows where I could buy one from. I live in Australia so it would probably need to be shipped here. Thanks

There's quite a few different ones, that's from a 1999 car but there's a change in May 1999 so it could well be wrong. The number given doesn't help much either, using your part number leads me here - http://bartebben.com/parts/peugeot/406/ ... 92580.html which gives a few different codes but you're best off reading the one off of your own module.

Btw that's the central control box, there is an additional one that seems to just do the airbag, so are you sure you have the right part?

hmm I don't know my car is at the Peugeot service centre at the moment and that's the part number they told me they were trying to get. Before this they had to take apart the seat to replace an airbag sensor and then they said they needed to reset something but it wouldn't so they need a new module. The car has been there for like 3 weeks being 'fixed' because apparently they ordered the part and their computer system said it was being posted from France or something and then their system said the part had arrived and the next day they said they didn't have the part and it was never posted because everyone was out of stock and they have no idea when they will be back in stock. I don't really know what to do lol...

Ok so I sent an email to Peugeot Australia and apparently they do have the part and the people at the service center are just retarded...

I just checked and this part never made it into any other Peugeot or Citroen, but I did notice this:

Alternatively...

Tell them you will try and source this part yourself, make a note of all the numbers on it (a photograph would probably be easiest), try and match it with those on the link I posted and then keep your beady eye on ebay. If you do find one in the UK who won't post abroad you might have to get some kind soul on here to buy it and ship it on to you.

You could also join the 406 coupé club (http://www.406coupeclub.org/PHPBB3/) not only because your engine is a lot more common over there but also because they have a resident breaker (Ade1122) who specialises in coupés and will probably be able to help you out. He also has a presence on ebay (same username) but you'll get stuff cheaper through the club.
