Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Hi there :cheesy:

I've not compared them to lozz's but these seem to be ok for my car. You may wish to save them...

Hi & welcome to the site. 8)

What problems are you having - lights on the tailgate only, or all of them?
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

thanks to Lozz....will check fuses tomorrow.

thanks tp Steve_earwig, diagrams of fuse layout look very similar, unfortunately do not match up with Lozz's list....but will bear in mind when i look tomorrow.

with regard to Doggy, bought vehicle 3 weks ago, all fine to start with...... then
[a] heater began to only work intermittently, now packed up all together

driving down M11 towards M25....flashed by lorry as I overtook, stopped on hard shoulder...found that tail lights and number plate light not working....upon closer inspection, I found the following:
[a] rear tail light and number plate light not working, indicators, brake lights, reversing lights and fog light all working
front sidelights not working, dipped, main beam, indicators and fog light all working

seems strange [unlikely] to me that 2 fuses should go at same time but want to start there and move on as necessary....just to add more confusion I did tow a small trailer the day before and all lights worked prefectly, i wonder if the "trailer lights" may have caused the problem?

thanks to everyone for their help, Terry

Hi Terryb if you are having trouble with rear electrics check where the wires enter the tailgate inside and around the rubber tube .Iwas having loads of trouble with lights and my radiator fans staying on all the time had to call out auto electrician he found that the heated rear window wire had lost some insulation and had melted a lot of wires  causing no end of electrical problems glad to say he sorted the wiring and now everything is sweet 8)

I know it seems a bit unlikely, but have you checked the bulbs themselves?

If your tails, number plate light, and sidelight bulbs have all gone, that would be the symptoms you describe.

The blower motor is a known thing to pack up, could be the motor itself or the wiring. Have a search on here :)
