Alternator removale

Hi- I tried to romove my alternator on my car to replace it and i cant get to the bolts, is there anything i need to remove to get at them? the car is a P reg 1.9 LXD

the alternator I bopught is from a 2002 406 coupe, its a Valeo, the wire connecticns are different on the plastic cover to my Bosch although the listing said it fits.

Just be careful. I had a headache with my alternator because it was the wrong one. All that was different was where the wires bolt on. Would not charge at all

That's what happened to me! I still can't get the bolt off

Which bolt are you struggling with?

The top one at the moment as I cant even see the bottom one.

Does anyone know what part number my Bosch alternator is for a 1.9 diesel P reg not HDI?
