Speed Sensor - Fitting cruise control D8 1.9TD

Hello All

I have a Peugeot 406 (D8) Mk 1 1.9TD build April 1996

I am wishing to fit an aftermarket cruise control kit.
I am looking at the GoldCruise kit with GC55(AP550) electronic actuator and GC5 (CM25).
All seems very feasible but I am trying to understand the speed sensor

If i understand correctly, being a diesel it does not have a coil, nor ECM, so I have to connect either using a magnet kit sensor or the use of a speed pulse generator.
Am I correct that their is not an actual ECM on this model?

Can anyone advise how I pick up the speed sensor signal? do I need the speed pulse generator or magnet kit sensor
