P0246 CODE

Post by womble171 »

Hi all, long time no speak.....

My 406hdi has been running well for 600 miles but is now giving me trouble again, hopefully nowhere near as much as last time!!! Thankfully she don't cut out now and runs really well, must have been the ultrasonic bath I gave the injectors

Problem now is that I got no turbo pressure??
Checked all the obvious things but I have read a couple of posts where it turns out to be a blocked cat??
My eml light came on and it threw up theP0246turbo pressure low fault. I cleared the code but the car just has no zip in it and gets up to speed very slow but planet is now saying no fault found??

Any ideas on how to de cat her??? Not dropped an exhaust on one before so any hints an tips appreciated

it could be an exhaust fault or a boost pipe has split

a de-cat need a hack saw or grinder and a welder, should cost about £50 to get a shop to do it

Just looked at that link, thanks Doggy.
I think it looks like the cat though....just disconnected the flexi and took it for a whizz round the block.
Sounds like a tank but I seem to have all power back and a little bit more!
Looks like its a de-cat I need

Well guys managed to do the de-cat this morning.
Never had to cut the cat open....i managed to break it up by driving a long drill bit through it, giving it a shake, then repeat step 1 and 2 several times.. I had an old scaffold tube knocking about which fitted nicely inside the exhaust so give it a good old reaming out with that and end result is one clear exhaust and one Peugeot running as it should be........well for now anyway
