Fitted New Radio

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Fitted New Radio

Post by NEILLUFC »

Hi All

Have just replaced my old radio(Clarlon) with the exact same model
When i fitted it, wasnt asked to enter a code.
Radio/CD works fine, When i turn the stereo on after a couple of seconds it makes a loud bleeping sound.

How do i fix this?

Thanks in advance

No sh*t Sherlock :cheesy:
Won't cost that much if you know right people
Thought you had it covered? The stereo is programmed to only work in it's original car, when you move it to another car it'll need to be recoded by someone who knows what they're doing (or alternatively a main dealer).

Don't know, never had to do it myself. As far as I know it's a dealer only thing but I'd have though that there must be others doing it by now.

You either need someone with PP2000 :) or the dealer :(

The hardest part is finding where in PP2000 the radio menu is. When you've found it you just enter your VIN and the beeping stops.

As a temporary measure, if you turn the radio on and the volume right down then the beeping is almost inaudible.

OK, I assume he's asking new or old style as in the Clarion units fitted to the D9 or the Philips ones fitted to the D8. So yours is new.
