coulumn stalk radio control mfd

have just managed to get another mfd off local pug breaker , put it in and it downloaded and works great but i have now noticed that the column control for the radio is not working any more , its not a real problem as it all works manualy just wondered why and does this part need matching to the unit ?

Did this for a member of the coupe club - use PP2000 to go into confiruration and set the control options to match your car (wired or multiplex).
