F*CK - what have I done?!

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

F*CK - what have I done?!

Post by Sonia406 »

Um

Ok, so the rubber on my remote was crumbling.
Bought new rubber off the 'Bay and changed it last night.
No problems at all.

This morning the rubber has to be pressed quite a way in and the rubber got caught half way down - a bit annoying.
Thought I'd try and wedge something between the circuit board and the rubber to make it a bit harder.
Did that - didn't unlock the car, so removed it.

Put key back together and the red light was constantly on.
It shortly went out but now isn't unlocking the car!

Please someone tell me this is an easy fix and I don't have to take my tail between my legs to Peugeot and get it re-programmed?

Sounds like you jammed the button down and it eventually drained the battery.

PANIC OVER

I did a few re-sync things to try and sync it back together. That failed. Disconnected the car battery for a minute. That also failed.
Shut the bonnet, told the bitch she isn't my friend any more.
Turned her over with the fob, turned her off. Pressed fob and way hey - its all working again :)

Lesson learned, lesson learned!

Technically it was broken though? The casing was cracked.
I am all about perfection... Can't do much about the bodywork and paint chips but I can do something about the stuff that doesn't work.

Interestingly, my dead lock doesn't work!
