A Rare Opportunity

Post by waue1978 »

Typical that it comes along after I bought the Zafira, but if I'd still been in the market I'd be snapping this up:

I've seen 2 or 3 of these SRi HDis for sale since I've been on here, but this is the first one that's actually been ready to use (the others all had undiagnosed faults which could have been expensive). At less than £2000 it's also cheaper than most dealers sell sub-100k 2.2 HDis for.

Looks to be in good condition too with no sign of a towbar having been fitted.

Well spotted - that is a rare car, clean and low mileage - what more could you ask for !!

Would have liked to see a picture of the engine bay, I wonder if it is different to a standard 2.2Hdi.

No differences to a standard 2.2 HDi, just a really rare spec. The SRi comes with fantastic half leather seats with manual adjustment (a decent weight saving over electric ones), the blue wood trim & stitching. This is also the first SRi HDi that I've seen in silver which could make it ultra-rare, although I do prefer that Monaco Blue that the other 2 I saw were in as it's a nicer colour & I suspect that there wouldn't be any other 2.2 HDis in that colour due to it being predominantly used on SRis, Rapiers & S models. According to www.howmanyleft.co.uk there were only 6 SRi HDis left in 2012. A decent one of these looked after for the next 5 years will easily still be worth nearly £2k as a potential classic.

That's standard on the SRI/TS models. My 2.2 petrol has it too.

Didn't know you could get the SRI as a diesel, though. I thought it was petrol-only.
