Miss Pug

Post by Sonia406 »

Right guys, you've all seen Miss Pug at Pugfest.
What is a reasonable amount of money to ask for her?

I am pretty sure her future no longer lies with me.

I keep thinking about selling her then changing my mind because I am attached to her (in true Peugeot enthusiast style) BUT I am pretty sure this is it for her now. I've had 1.8 DT 205s, I love my diesels, I only got her because I couldn't afford a HDi and whilst that still might be for the most part true, I want a tractor again!

Peugeot diesel engines are strong, they last.
Since putting the MOT on, late April I have almost clocked up 2,000 miles already.

Details about her:
2001 Y reg, estate 7 seater
2.0 16v 136bhp
Few dings in body work, odd minor scratches (around door handles etc)

Taxed until October
MOT until April '14

Long MOT and tax help. What's the mileage on her? I don't really know but I don't think it would go for more than £1000 - just like most 406's out there.

And yes, HDI engines do last. Everything around them will fall to pieces though.
2003 - 2008: 1998 Peugeot 406 2.1 TD 110bhp LX Saloon
2008 - 2009: 2004 Honda Accord 2.2 CDTI 136bhp Executive Saloon
2009 - 2013: 2002 Peugeot 406 2.0 HDI 110bhp Executive Saloon
2013 - 2021: 2007 Peugeot 407 2.2 HDI 170bhp Executive Saloon (mapped to 213bhp )
2021 - ????: 2016 Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi 180bhp Titanium

Well, that still has life in it. Best way to check is to see what prices they go for on eBay/Autotrader - will give you an idea. The key is to advertise it well - take LOTS of pictures and write as much information as you can.

None of that gumtree style "Ritten orf - lite frontal damage - cheep fix. Innit."

Are you not planning on getting a 406 in diesel form though? If so, I reckon you'd be best off removing the 7 seat kit to fit in the replacement & just sell Miss Pug as a standard estate.
