Help with various electrical gremlins

Post by stoney »

Hi All

Just bought a 406 estate and it has a few electrical gremlins, any advice would be appreciated

1. Multifunction display is dim and only shows date and time nothing else
2. strange electrical noises coming from behind the dash when you open the car
3. Climate control unit comes on as soon as you open the car and sometimes takes a while to go off when you close it
4. indicator stalk is floppy
5. air bag light on
6. remote for locking is dead

Does your car have sat-nav? If not then maybe check the three bulbs in the back of the display.

Does the D9 MFD have a manual adjust on the side of it like the D8 has?
If you take it out to change the bulbs have a look for a small switch with a screwdriver slot, the D8 version can adjust it's functionality that way.

Only a guess mind as I've never seen a D9 MFD outside of the car.
