Windows screen recorders

Can anyone recommend a simple screen recording utility I can use to capture pp2k (full screen) data, on my ancient Compaq laptop with XP SP3?

I downlaoded BB flashback yesterday - it'll run on my desktop m/c but not the laptop, (suspect because it's not got internet access).

Don't fancy repeating the process more than once more, hence the desire not to re-invent this particular wheel

Not really, I'm trying to find which parameter(s) are slow to respond on initial pick up, to determine if I'm looking for an issue with fuel, boost or something else. Wanted to record all the live data from a few runs, then look at the dynamic behaviour.......

Managed to get 'liteCam HD' installed and 'running' earlier, problem is the processing overhead more or less stops my ancient laptop in it's tracks.

Not only that but having got a sniff of internet access, it promptly tried to log onto Peugeot's server when I did try to run PP2k. That managed to somehow to de-register it, allowing me to once more experience the sheer joy of working out how the all but undocumented keygen thing 'works'. Got there in the end.

Nett result: back to square one, day wasted, beer required.

Ah, now I see.

That thing might be quite good then. You can set it to record only part of the screen -- which results in a smaller file, and give a slow disc a chance at keeping up with the sustained write.

PP2000 does have a logging facility whereby it'll save an XML file somewhere (deep within its directory structure, find it using a search for files modified in the last ... mins) with a page's readings in two second intervals. It's one of the icons at the bottom of the screen iirc. Can't be any more specific because I haven't done it in about 3 years

That's interesting and potentially far more useful, particularly if it logs parameters regardless of whether they're on the current screen.

I may have a poke about in PP2k's entrails in an effort to determine the intent of its Gallic creators.
