Turbo problems? I'm not so sure. Looks in decent condition and would make a great car for someone. I'd love to have a go at it myself but I've neither the time nor the space to keep it.
Emailed the seller to ask for what happened and the symptoms, here's the reply:
Hi, the recovery man asked me what had happened, which was that the car suddenly over revved and loads of white smoke came out the back. After it was switched of I tried it again and it started and hovered at idle and then over revved again this time I had to stall it to switch it off. His opinion, it was a blown turbo having had one do exactly the same thing to him and it was also the opinion of my garage although they have not seen it.
Anyone fancy it as a project?

Without seeing it it actually does sounds like turbo seals.....
