Heater issue

Hi, Hope someone can help. Apologies for not posting in a while. . .. . .
2002 Hdi exec estate.
Ive got heat and cold.
Ive got recirculation and also the electronic display works correctly as it should
I have 4 fan speeds

What I HAVENT got is the ability to get the airflow changing direction when I
move the control to up/down /both/vents .etc
It all seems to be in the shut to all position bar a little of the air bleeding through all outlets.
It generally works but poorly.

Is there an obvious fix for this....?

Any help would be appreciated. Apaprt from this and the odd autolights issue the car seems ok for 370k.

370k omg, i can remember the days when 65k up meant you were getting near an engine overhaul. Which shows it is some time since my 21st birthday. lol
