Even I am still trying to work that one out...lozz wrote:How did that happen?.
All I can thing of is: temperatures took its toll... This morning, a hard frost. By the time I got to it, sun was on it and warm ish...
I got in the drivers side, closed the door like you normally do, wind was behind me so it would of pushed the door open.
Brought the door up to, crack.
'Err, what was that?'
Looked in rear-view mirror
I couldn't believe my eyes....
Think I shall be robbing the pads for Miss P.........
Last straw with this car I'm afraid Lozz...... it needs to go! I've had enough!

Thanks Lozz! I will do, is there any point in asking if the seller of the gaitors will accept them as returns?
You're an absolute Angel, thank you!
I do but I believe I have a rather large excess because the front one was done etc... I can get a new tailgate for £30, it just won't be the right colour and for £70 I can get the tailgate, have the window taken out and put in this one but even then - no guarantee that won't break either.........OllieNZ wrote:O beggar

Re: SMASH!
The excess shouldnt change unless your insurance company has some sort of stupid stipulations in your contract. I changed 3 screens in one car in the space of 6mths and his excess was always the same. It may be worth a look as then you will get a new window an the fitting company then assumes responsibility for the glass.
If we were requested to do a remove and refit then customer took the risk. Your excess cant be much more than £70 in the first place?

Re: SMASH!
My glass cover excess is 75 quid,
not alot of money but iprefare to just pay outright for new glass,
going off my past experience,, they dont come out and replace glass/windscreens when needed, last episode resorted in get car recoverd off motorway,
get the screen cut out of scrap car get it fixed in,and bin the car on ebay.. away from thee witchcraft as they say..let it be someone elses problem

The problem with that is, if I do pay £70 to get the glass into my tailgate - the glass is still at risk of breaking on fitting!
As of about 7:19pm last night Miss Pug is fully insured again and Pugster is rotting in hell.
Awaiting an insurance certificate then to tax her again!
£25 administration charge means this decision is my absolute final one!
Spoke to seller of the car last night, told him that it's going to be scrapped and had he sent the log book off as I still hadn't received it.
He messaged back to say he was very sorry he wouldn't see ''her'' on the roads any more and that the day after purchase he sent it off.
Called the DVLA half an hour ago, confirms his story - my log book has gone astray in the post. New one should take 3-5 working days to get here.
Now, to find the best place who can give me a barely reasonable price for it........ - Shall not hold my breath. Hey, at least it's got MOT for another 5 days..........

Re: SMASH!
Sorry to hear about the problems, the same thing happened to my dad in an old 309, he turned on the heated rear window and the glass shattered.Sonia406 wrote: Now, to find the best place who can give me a barely reasonable price for it........ - Shall not hold my breath. How much would you want for pugster?

Dont be silly by scrapping it,

put the car as is on ebay.. you will get alot more than scrap price that way.
