No more pugs!

Post by mjb »

Pretty soon we won't have a Peugeot in the family  Dad's driving a Punto, I'm in my Bimmer, and on Saturday we're going to be picking up the wife's HDi90's replacement. A HDi138... Citroën C5. It's going to cost a few hundred to sort the clutch in her hdi, so figure we may as well pay a few quidskis more (assuming we can get a decent price for the pug) for a much younger and better specced car

Great price (seller needs to get an auto quickly for medical reasons), nice leather trim, ML6 gearbox, cruise, parking sensors, com2000 (urgh), 50bhp more, same boot space... Looks bloody nice!

Can't find a handbook online for sh*t though

2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

WCPGW? :P

Actually it's probably similar to owning a 406 I would've thought.

Steve,
Is that for intelligent Corvette owners or is it an intelligent manual?
Option 1 is surely an oxymoron!!! (such an appropriate word :cheesy: )

Shame it's not a C4, we could have done explosives jokes instead :| Btw it's yellowish and squishy...

Thread hijack - I saw this this morning and I thought "but it's an automatic": http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-be ... s-25963780

Turbo runaway from stone cold? Look at the arse end of it though, it's demolished 2 walls and it's still in shape, no Hillman Hunter that.

"I had just left the kitchen after making a sausage sandwich"
I'm glad he told us that, it makes so much more sense now.

"revving uncontrollably"? Turbo Failure? and: "to put it into Park she had to go 'through' Reverse" - Hmmmm :|

Buildings like that Bungalow have very little strength horizontally that's why the car has so little damage and managed to get right through. The dent on the boot lid was most likely caused by pushing that 'period' AGA out the way, didn't fit in with the theme anyway if you ask me Image

I guess he had to say he was in there doing something, rather than "I was lying in bed playing with my sausage when...", he could also have said "I had just finished pissing into that very sink!"

I'm sure park would have sorted it, it's just a shame that pesky reverse gear got in the way :frown: Why can't they just say "she panicked and dumped it into reverse"?

That must make them easy to break into...

I didn't notice that before, if you ask me it doesn't even fit in with itself. Looks like one of the cheap 'n' cheerful wood burners they sell here but with a brown top. And what's with the French flag? Could it be the Cistern took offence to the trickler being made into a tea towel?

Same calibre of person who didn't think to push the big pedal on the floor that makes cars slow down, or turn the key or press the 'stop' button (if keyless), or put it back in neutral, or steer towards something else, or...
