Squeal

So just when I think that everything on my 406 HDi is done, lately when cold, there is a squeal from, what I think is the clutch release bearing, but when warm, nothing.

Am I likely to be correct?

When does the noise come on? Is it when you press the clutch down?

The noise is when the clutch is released.

Does it come on if you just rest your foot on the pedal...after taking up the slack on the pedal?

Does the noise stay on after the clutch is released?

I'll check tomorrow, but it's definitely coming from the exterior of the car.

Sounds like the alternator belt slipping.

Belt was just renewed recently.

Well there was no noise today, sods law, so I guess I'll just have to keep my ears open.
