CAT sought after?

Has any body heard of cars been stolen for the Cat converter, ???
Had a conversation with the guy at the garage, he said he was suprised that I had not had my 406 stolen, that they are been stolen and the Cat removed because as he said he had been offered £200 from a scrap yard for any old Cat he replaces ????

Not heard of the car being stolen, but some low-life knicked DDD's cat from under his car.
One of my workmates had the cat/dpf knicked from under his Citroen C8 around the same time.

That seems an excessive amount for a cat, they're not that expensive new one of the guys a work replaced the on on his missus' 307cc and I'm pretty sure he said the new one only cost 67quid

Hi I work for a commercial vehicle repair company and know of a firm that had somebody break into their compound with a battery powered angle grinder and cut off 15 cats, must be happening a lot.

Aftermarket CATs don't have the same amount of precious metals that an OEM CAT will contain.

I sold my neighbours old (original) hdi 406 cat (flexi knackered) on ebay a while back and got over £200 for it,his replacement aftermarket one was less than a £100 !
