MOT time again

Post by D9406 »

Just failed the mot, nothing major, registration plate bulb, power steering pipe leak, jubilee clip fix, centre seat belt, rear, not retracting properly and near side upper track control arm.
Advisories on handbrake, 16%, cables are free so just needs adjustment, 2 rear tyres wearing, minor exhaust leak, front pads low but I was planning on replacing discs anyway and slight play in anti roll bar ball joint.
My cat has been missing for the past 2 mots due to it being nicked but once again it sailed through with no cat fitted although the tester gave me an advisory for the sill where the lowlifes jacked the car up to nick it.
So, for now replace the track control arm, change a bulb, fit a jubilee clip and fix seat belt to get it through the mot and then adjust the handbrake and fit new discs over the xmas period.
Most work I have had to do in 4 years of mots with this car.

Sounds like a pretty good result. :D

Well done you.

Fixed and shiny new ticket acquired.
Bulb hadn't actually blown, wiggled outer lens without taking it out and bulb lit and has been fine since. Slammed rear seat into place and centre seat belt magically fixed itself. So a jubilee clip from the toolbox sorted the power steering leak and a new track control arm fitted, £15, and jobs a good 'un.
I like these cars. '99 vintage and 87k, genuine miles.
Over Christmas new front discs and pads going on and anti roll bar ball joint if I can find a dry couple of hours and I will adjust the handbrake using jaspers excellent guide. As these are service items anyway £55 for a mot pass , includes mot fee, aint bad. Well pleased.
