While checking my car before its MOT I noticed that the rear fog lamp was working on the drivers side but not the passenger side. After dismantling the boot trim to get at the lamp I removed the bulb only to find that the bulb itself was perfectly OK and a new bulb didn't work when plugged in.
So on to a couple of questions:
- Does the 406 have rear fogs on both sides or just one ?
- If it's both sides any ideas why the nearside one doesn't work ? The fuse must be OK because, according to the manual it powers both rear lamps and the drivers side works.
Not sure if it's relevant but the drivers side front fog lamp doesn't work due to damage and I'm in the process of replacing it (eBay is great for parts like this - nearly half the price charged for the part by the dealer).

Legally you only have to have 1 rear fog light, and it has to be on the offside. I know only the offside one works on mine, been like that since new, it has crossed my mind to try to get the other one working. Interesting to know there was a bulb in yours - I always assumed it was just left out. Doesn't sound like it's connected up?
