Hello..

If I rember correctly..to refil the box you remove airbox.and there's a breather with with a plastic cap..on top of gearbox :)
Fill it there...or remove reverse light switch and fill it there..

Make sure box is empty tho ..or you can or couid end up overfilling it..
If you fill it from the breather or reverse switch..

As for the thing your planning on deleting/bining..ask doggy.

Earlier 'boxes had a filler/level plug, I suspect this is yours but it's probably easier just to remove the air filter box and reversing light switch and dump the oil in the hole.

ISTR it's 1.8 litres for a refill, 1.9 for a rebuild. This is for a ML5T (reverse opposite 5th) but I'm thoroughly confused for the C after reading Ben's Service Box download "fluids", anyone care to comment?

If memory serves, it's 1.8l for an ML5C & 2.0 for an ML6C. Yours will be a 5C, (reverse lift up / beside 1st).
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Hi cheers for the replies and reverse is opposite to 5th and you don't have to lift it up or anything like that

So it's an ML5T and it has the filler/level plug (which I still wouldn't bother with...) It's 1.8 litres of finest 75w80 anyway (and don't let anyone tell you different!)
