Bit random, I've done loads of oil changes over the years and just simply wanged the sump nut back until it was "tight" or felt right but it there a torque setting for these nuts? internet says 16NM?
The 1.6HDi Citroen's getting fresh oil tomorrow night.

I dunno, there aren't any torque figures on service box back-up, I thought maybe the setting for a 406 HDI would be somewhere close but Haynes doesn't say

Thank you for checking, it's ok, at present I am suffering stress (shitty work crap and other things) so the last thing I need is to over-tighten an aluminium sump. To this end the garage next door at work are doing it for me today.
I've got a 3-hour drive starting at 07:00am tomorrow so sod crawling about (with poor light on a cold floor) under a Citroen wrestling with undertrays and old oil on a Friday night after a 50 hour week.
Going to ask them (really carefully) to fit the engine air filter too, and then run off quick as it's a right twat of a job

16 Nm is about 12 lb/ft in old money, so maybe just as well....
Use the Volvo tomorrow - saves worrying about getting the Cistern flushed as it were and it'll be much more FUN, (remember fun)?
I've got a 2-hour drive at 05:30 tomorrow, followed by an 8-hour driving course, same Sunday, C+E driving test 08:40 Monday.

Now I knew the rear discs and pads are shot (originals on 50K) since the MOT in September and I knew the rears bind when cold......today/recently however they are binding proper and have taken the last bit of pads down to nothing. The rear wheels take some effort to turn them by hand when off the ground.
The intention was for me to source the bits and spend a Saturday being a hero and changing them, only I'm out of time. Needles to say the garage are fitting discs & pads this afternoon for £160.00. The rear discs have an integral wheel bearing (yay
).
The filter-de-air is not being done, even he sniffed a bit at this job saying he'd done one recently and wouldn't have time today
I'm alright with that; I'll do it armed with the you-tube guide on a lap top balanced in the engine bay

Well, 400 miles in the freshly-oiled 1.6 HDi, new non-sticky rear brakes, 3 on board with light luggage, average motorways 75-85 mph, and some very hilly Whitby/Scarborough stuff and a reasonable bit of town work.
Overall MPG = 46
don't know if that's good or bad.
