According to VOSA, here is the official list of Peugeot 406 components / vehicles that have been officially recalled due to dangerous defects or manufacturing faults etc...
My car came with the original recal letter from Peugeot about that first one on the list, as well as stamp to show the car had been in and got the problem sorted. I still have it in my documentation for the car.
As the car was built before the build start date of the others, its the only recal it was needed for.
The 'risk of fire' one did catch out a few 2003 406's when the wiring went 'multiplex'.
Also the famous air bag wiring fault where you would have a crash and the passenger air bag went off instead of the drivers etc. they were all wired up the wrong way round or something
Cars in my care:
2021 Kia Spottage 1.6 Pez Turbo Dual Clutch Gearbox Trickery
2013 Renner Twingo - donkey work

Yeah I realised that after I had the first bonnet come up into my windscreen on the A500... Wondered why I couldn't open the replacement bonnet until I discovered there was actually supposed to be a safety catch...
