Sat Nav was dead, now it just confused

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Sat Nav was dead, now it just confused

Post by repsho »

Hi - I recently bought a 110 HDI (53) with an unreadable error satnav system and landed here by the power invested in me by Google. Took the drive apart and cleaned the laser/mech and it seems to be working well now but it displays the wrong street names now and then :?

Is there a way to reset the unit to factory defaults/test menu? Also can you make the dash display street names automatically or do you have to manually select it each time?

Thanks

the sat nav is always shite, it sounds like yours has failed and requires a new DVD drive, not really worth it, and as far as i know the only way to reset it would be to just disconnect the battery and leave it overnight

OK, I'm sure I saw something regarding a test mode for the satnav system somewhere in the days before I got it working.

Anyone know anything?
