OMG I'm back in the UK after 8 months!

Post by maglite »

8) Hi guys I'm back in the UK from my trip to the US. It's been 8 months and I'm all dazzed after getting back.. What the hell has happened to the fuel prices!!!! ok and my D9 and D8 have been parked up idle for the last 8 months. I've put both batts on charge, but any suggestions as to anything I should do before starting them up? They have been stood still for the last 8 months. I am glad to be back though.. those yanks were getting on my nerves :D I hope everyones all doing well, Gaz, Welly, Nick, James and the rest of the gang, Happy New Year everyone!

Ah, welcome back to the real world :cheesy:

Remember to check the tyre pressures before you take them down off the blocks (umm...), change the oil, check all the other levels, check the engines are free by putting a spanner on the crank pulley, watch out for frozen clutches & maybe snapping fan belts.

Anyway, why did you go back???

Say a prayer before even looking at the D9 ;)
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

You mean why did I come back?.. my work contract ended in the US. Had a good time there, but near the year ending the weather in Boston got really bad. Ok now you guys have got me all worried. I'm thinking of changing the oil in the D8 1st before starting her up. I'll deal with the D9 in a couple of days after checking everything possible. I did take a look at the belts, and they seem ok. I just hope I don't get any horrible lights on the dash popping up and I hope no spiders have got into the ECU. :|

No, go - see my location over there ------> I'd have to be dragged back kicking and screaming!

It's not spiders I'd be worrying about but condensation. I suppose it all depends how well you stored them.

Look into my eyes  you WILL change the engine oil :cheesy:
