Electrical problem
Last weekend i went to fit a bluetooth car kit, i looked at the my handbook and it shows the stereo connections ( 2001 rapeir saloon) the book shows a mute connection so i took a circuit test pen and i could not get the sound to mute on any of the connections. I have now got an autolead telemute cable and went to a local car stereo install shop to get them to check connections, i commented on the mute and they tell me that my stereo does not have a mute on the stereo, and that it mutes through the autolead cable. However after using the tester pen i have discovered that my lighter now does not work without the ignition where as it did before. The fuse in the fuse box is not blown. Can anyone help.
Re: Electrical problem
Fuse 1 - there's room for it to be in one of 2 positions so move it to the other position

Re: Electrical problem
whch slot should it otherwise be in and which voltage is the fuse
Re: Electrical problem
All the fuses are 12v. The slots for fuses 1 and 16 have 3 holes each so the fuses can be put in an up or down position. If you have a look you'll see what I mean. In one position it's a permanent live and the other it's live with ignition.

Re: Electrical problem
According to my handbook the lighter is Fuse 23 and it should be 20A.

Re: Electrical problem
Mine isn't fuse one but elsewhere there's two fuses that seem to have two positions, they both seem to be fast blowing with no rating. I can't find my handbook (which is in Italian anyway) so I tried service box, the pics don't load though, is that just me?

Re: Electrical problem
Bugger I missed the '2001' part. What I said only applies to D8s evidently
Should be 10A.
