Which fuel station and any additives used?

Post by rapport25 »

I always use shell diesel extra and millers diesel sport 4 in my hdi. Find both work a treat.

What do you use and why?

Any benefits?

Whats the best?

Probably completely irrelevant but the diesel choice here is just diesel or Eurodiesel, it's about 2p a litre more expensive. I ran the D9 on it and it didn't make a blind bit of difference so I never bothered again. Then, the other day, when they had the high road up yet again ( :x ), I went to the garage down by the motorway and it was all they had ( :( ). The thing is the D8 runs much smoother and seems to have a little more oomph  :? 8)

I alway used used Shell or esso, the HDI seemed to like the Shell fuels, V-power seem to give it bit more go after a few tanks, but probably wasn't worth the extra...

Cant see the point in paying the price of Vpower. So I always use Millers Diesel sport 4 which returns better MPG more performance, a quiter engine and smoother power delivery.

I've heard rumours that Shell diesel is better quality so I fill up there, I have a Shell card and get money off fuel every couple of months. I haven't tried any super diesel or Millers yet.

In almost 3 years I've used them all really and the only time I've noticed any "improvement" was with the V Power and that was only slight and as belly said not really worth it?

My engine appears to be a good'un and seems happy to chew on any old sh*t I put in there, so that's what I do.

This months favourite = Sainsbury 'taste the difference' Diesel followed by Tesco's :cheesy:

Shell everytime for me. Wouldn't mind trying VPower Diesel but despite the massive VPower signs above the pumps at my local Shell they don't sell it, not even VPower unleaded :?

So asking the spotty faced goon behind the counter weather they are getting it, the answer i got was dunno. Cheers
