windscreen wash pump
hi all looking for some advice my front screenwash pump has failed and i was wondering how do i get to it to replace the pump thanks in advance
Re: windscreen wash pump
Take the drivers side front wheel off, then unscrew the wheelarch lining. You'll probably want to get a few replacement screws for the lining before you start, as chances are you'll end up having to use mole grips to remove some due to the rust
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Re: windscreen wash pump
my advice would be goto a scrap yard and have a look/practice
I found that a lot of pug/cit pumps are the same, so maybe get a couple of different ones in your tool box ;)
also maybe pinch more rubber seals than you will probably need
Once you have pulled it out, i would get a hose down the filler and see if any crap come out the big hole (gives it a clean)
I would then put my thumb over the hole and let it fill up and then remove my thumb and see if anything else comes out
BEFORE you remove the current one, plug the electrics into the replacement and see if it spins both ways, wont damage it if it just for a second
