Replacement key fob switches

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Replacement key fob switches

Post by djheath »

For anyone that is interested, the actual switch fell off my key fob the other day. After buying a replacement fob from ebay that ended up being junk, I noticed some guy on Ebay selling the replacement switches at £6 a pop for two! I had a gander and finally found the exact same switches for sale on the following site:

At 35 pence each and with free postage same day it's probably the cheapest and quickest way to fix your key fob.

I ordered four, incase of future breakages and soldered on the new switch last night and it works perfectly!

The site is brilliant and I am sure they sell other switches that are used in different variants of the 406 key fobs!

That is all....

yes, further to this one....I only have one key that doesn't work the remote central locking,is this a battery problem?Do I need one of these switches you're talking about?I too have seen various cheap "quick fixes" on E-bay,but do they work?
Oh yes,and while I'm here....the fuel gauge problem I've got?Have found a couple of cars in scrapyards locally ,with the fuel pump ,and one guy is telling me you can split the pump and sender! Will keep you informed.Also.....yeah,I know I 've got loads of stuff to sort....I have one headlight and one foglight off but yet the bulbs are OK?
