cruise control

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

cruise control

Post by ajrastus »

Can anybody help. I recently had my cam belt changed on 406 110Hdi 53plate and ever since my cruise control won't work, I'm lost as to what could have caused this.

Difficult to see how a cambelt job could affect this. :o
Mine did it one evening, but worked OK the following day & has been alright since....
Things to check:
Operate the on/off switch a few times.
Check the safety switches on the clutch & brake pedals.
There's not much else to it on an HDi as the ECU just holds steady engine rpm...

You could try disconnecting the battery for a spell, failing that try a search for BSI reset in the Electrical section.

Let us know how you get on.

The car is now being looked at as we speak. It was put on a diagnostic system earlier today and it came up with the cam shaft sensor faulty, this was replaced but didn't fix my cruise control so was it put back on the diagnostic system and this time it said there was a crank case sensor fault. I myself thought that it the crank case sensor was gone the car wouldn't go but I being told that it would run but it would be rough. This is where I'm at, at present will let you all know the end result
