For some reason, my car came with two - needless to say the other one doesn't fit

Might try modding it to the right pattern for mine......

I just had a quick Google and there's all sorts, the cheap one from Halfords looks like it won't do so much damage (unless the bolts were done up by a gorilla with an impact wrench).

It should be 12x1.25 where 12 is the diameter and 1.25 is the thread pitch of the bolt. Just so you know...5405 67 MONTING SCREW 12X125 (Monting?)
