D8 immobiliser

guys, I followed the instructions in my handbook, but I can't seem to set my keypad / immobiliser to auto

i.e. once set, opening the doors with the plip deactivates the system (for 1 minute)

is this is a well known problem or easy to fix without an expensive trip to the main dealers ?

For what it's worth mine does the same Col, i've just got used to punching in the code every time!
God knows what butchery has been carried out on my car in the past, I've had to put loads right!

not that I'm going to do this, but did I read somewhere on this forum that if you unpluggd the keypad when the engine was started, it disabled the immobiliser ?

Try it! I know on the 306's if you disconnect the transponder from the ECu when the engines started it unlocks the ECU so you don't need the immob!
