Hello everybody,
I am interested in installing an aux-in convertor unit on my Peugeot 406, and the instructions state that I should disconnect the battery's negative terminal before installation. Is that safe to do? Will it reset my radio so that the radio code will need to be entered again? Would it cause any problems with the car's internal computer?
Thanks for your time!

Yes. If you don't know the code, either use one of those 'memory saver' things you plug into the lighter socket, or don't disconnect the batteryZweistein wrote:Will it reset my radio so that the radio code will need to be entered again?
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

From the links on your other post you have a D9 (facelift, restyle, mk2 etc:) with a Clarion, this'll be coded to your car's BSI (computer from hell) and won't need a code. Seems like it's an idea to leave your car for 3 minutes before disconnecting the battery.
