BSI Question

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

BSI Question

Post by highlander »

Hi all,

I'm gathering quotes for getting my passenger-side electric window fixed (it does nothing, but the drivers' side window works fine). While it's in getting that repaired, I was thinking about asking them if they could have a nosey about the BSI.

Particularly, I was thinking of asking if they could tell the BSI that I have exec-spec doors with door card lights, and that I have front fog lights, and possibly a trip computer also.

Thing is, I don't have any of these things yet; I am looking into getting exec-spec wiper/light stalks at the very least this year, and leather door cards if I can find a set. Is there any risk that the BSI would freak out and not work properly if I lie to it?

Cheers
Graeme

It would definitely store faults, but I don't think they'd flag up any warnings
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
