406 brake pad warning

406 brake pad warning

Hi
v reg 1.8 Rapier front pads replaced 7k ago, warning light comes on when pedal depressed........is this referring to rear pads, if so can anyone advise how to get the (stuck) drums off?

Hmm that light (if memory serves, a circle with broken line on either side) means your front pads are worn and need replacing... I'd take the wheels off and check the condition of the wires coming off the pads and the connectors

Thanks for that, front pads have 6-8mm on them, were replaced 7k ago. If the light is for front only how do I know when rear are worn? Also do you know if sensor wires are "embedded" in the pads or on connectors? I've checked/reconnected the "chassis" end but couldn't get at the pad end (does the whole caliper come off the disk?)

All the ones I have seen have been embedded
