To be honest ,I was not sure which section to post this on,but here goes.
I have owned a 1996 2ltr 16v petrol 4 door saloon from new. I pressed the air recirculating button on the dash the other day and i heard a click just as the motor controlling the flap which shuts off the fresh air intake had stopped. Now I cannot get any fresh air into the car,and its misting up pretty bad as there is no fresh air coming out of the small triangular vents in each corner of the dash. .Anyone know whether this is a simple fix or not .I can still hear the motor when i press the switch ,so I am guessiing that a linkage or gear has broken. Is there a quick and simple way i can manually force the flap back open and just leave it that way.If so how do I get to it .

The best search term seems to be "recirc* flap" - basically take the pollen filter out, push flap open, refit pollen filter.

If memory serves me correct, the easiest way is from in the car. If you dont want use the recirc disconnect the switch and push flap open. I believe the motors are around £60.
