what the hell is it?

hi just got my first 406 and love it. but! a light came on the dash and i dont know what it is.
its a sort of oval or round shape lights up amber and the bottom half of it is black! only comes on every now and then
can anyone help please
also anyone know where i can get a handbook from

D8 or D9, and exactly where on the dash is it?

If it comes on during braking, it may well be your brake pad wear warning light

sorry its a 406 2ltr td lx?
i also have another problem!
i changed the radio today ( tuies) but as i moved a wire the perment live it touched a casing and the immobaliser keypad wont work, checked all the fuses and all seem ok, but it wont work and also interior lights dont come on, sorry to be a pain but has anyone any ideas what it is before i have to get an auto electrician in
