Child lock for rear window always on?

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Child lock for rear window always on?

Post by pugagain »

Hi, I have a D9 SV and neither of the rear power windows will not work from the buttons on the rear doors. They work fine from the drivers switches. I have tried the child lock on drivers consul in both positions but it does not allow the rear windows to work. Have tried to clean inside child lock (pulled it out) with Mentholated spirits but no fix. :( Any clues re how to fix????

Thanks

If the switch is faulty you could always grab one from a breakers.
To prove the point; if you've got a Haynes manual find the pins to the switch for the rear window override & bridge the switched connections. If they work, the switch is your culprit!

These switches never really get used for years, mine was stuck like this but a good few clicks on/off/on/off lots and lots of times seemed to work ok.
