Hi All
This problem is slowy driving me up the wall... basically the speedo & rev counter are regularly sticking / freezing in place on my 406 1800cc. The speedo always jams at around the 30mph position.
A hard thump on the dash panel over the dial while under hard acceleration can sometimes cause them to unstick & start working properly again, but the issue always returns. It's been getting steadily worse over time and is now happening virtually every day.
Does anyone know what could be causing this ? When I had my usual garage look at the fault a while back the problem chose not to manifest while they were checking (of course!) and they said they couldn't see anything wrong!
Thanks
Steve

Steve,
Is yours a D8 or a D9, (old shape or new shape), the D8's can suffer with dry solder on the back of the clocks which is an easy fix.

The 206 suffers with something similar - I believe it the stepper motor? Not sure if the 406 has one though...
