I'm looking into removing the dpf on my 307 1.6 110hdi and as I understand it its an ecu out job as flashing it via the obd is not reccomended. The way I understand the dpf system works is there are sensors before and after the filter and once the pressure differential builds the car runs a regen cycle. Now the way I see it I can remove the filter without causing any issues it's just that the rest of the system will continue to function as normal (without running regens as there will be no pressure differential) until I get a software removal carried out .
Anyone care to point out any flaws in this plan?
My other half has the same car as you and I believe there must be a certain level of pressure differential between the sensors due to the filter element, so simply removing the filter would cause an error and probably limp mode due to it falling outside the operating range.
Unless you can fool the 2 sensors into believing there is a difference in the correct range you'll just have to wait until it can be remapped properly.

As you say the ecu needs to be bench flashed so not a DIY job unfortunately.
How long does it take you to remove/refit and do you take the whole assy out or just undo the clamp and drop the bottom half out?
Just been in contact with hdi tuning £150 for remap/dpf delete and you can post the ecu to him if that helps
