Hey folks.
I'm looking to get a bit more power out of my Pug. Nothing boy racer like. Just a bit more punch for general over taking and getting out of trouble quick.
I think I have the XU7 JB engine. The 90bhp one. I was wondering of it is possible to swap it for the EW7 J4 engine? The 115bhp one. Both are 1.8s so in theory it shouldn't be a problem. I suppose I would need the other ECU to go with the new engine too?
Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I don't know. What makes you ask that? Are there compatibility issues?

Well, there's always compatibility issues, isn't there? I just thought it might be a bit less of a nightmare if you use an engine which seems to be more-or-less the same lump with a 16 valve head on it.

The EW7 is a D9 engine. You'd be opening up a completely new can of worms trying to transplant that into a D8! Immobiliser, ECU, wiring loom, etc etc!
