Post by lozz »

ive been thinking about centre console armrests not seen many about for the 406s,
was sat in a Vectra today in A breakers yard and Noticed how lovely thems centre console armrests look in them. 8)
Im thinking of grabbing one and see if ican modify it too fit 406 ,

Anyone think this is possible,?

the armrests are pretty small in the vectras only thing thats throwing me off this is i might end up with 2 rear ashtrays but im good at cutting plastic

Armrests were only fitted to GTX & Execs on the early D9s. LX & GLX got them in late 2000.

ive got the armrests on the seats, although its an exec thats expected.
I did get armrests out of the lx. And they are good armrests because i can change gear and use the handbrake even for handbrake turns while using them.

Ithink itl be all hit and miss with the Lx and the rappier,
the seats are better in the Rappier,

Maybe puggy had a shelf full of spare bits and thought hey ho lets fling them into some lxs/rappiers to get rid of them and attract more sales,
or maybe its that "Selection pack thing" :?

Iknow the Estates where £500 more than saloon so maybe you couid pick and choose what extras you got when the cars where orderd,

Neither do we, and neither did Peugeot ...

Essentially, the (UK) trim levels for Saloons and Estates are like this - very roughly, in order of lowest-to-highest:

L
LX
Rapier
GLX
GTX
S
SRi
SE
Executive

I have no idea what they're called elsewhere. We can't say for sure what equipment each trim level had, because it seems to vary from car to car - consistency is something Peugeot don't seem to have mastered. Additionally, there were a lot of features present on higher trim level cars as standard that were available as optional extras on lower-spec cars. So I could potentially have bought an LX, and added alloy wheels and a CD autochanger, even though that might technically make my LX the same trim level as a Rapier, basically.

The Executive models typically had all the toys as standard (though that's not always true - FarmerPug, for example, didn't get satellite navigation in his Executive)

Coupes had different trim levels (again, in the UK - trim levels elsewhere were given different names):

S
Silver & Black Special Edition
SE
Settant'Anni (70th Anniversary of Pininfarina) Special Edition
Ultima Edizione

There's a bit more about the Coupes on our Wiki - I've been putting information up there as and when I've found it.
2002 (D9) Peugeot 406 Coupe SE, 2.2 litre Petrol. Scarlet Red/Rouge Ecarlate/Rosso Scarlatto. Black Leather interior. SOLD :(
2008 (E60 LCI) BMW 525i M-Sport, 3.0 litre Petrol. Carbonschwarz Metallic. Black Dakota Leather and Myrtlewood interior.

mine doesn't have armrest nor either side airbag, it didn't had trip computer ( i just added this ) , although it has sunroof and all the plugs and wiring even for eletric and heated seats :|, i can even put the Sat navigation it is under the BSI options to activate, i checked this yesterday , i guess they do this so it's easier for them to put the extras that the client requested, instead of just putting every car with diferent wiring ... it's my guess

Can you elaborate on what you actually did

I appreciate yours is most likely a D9 and mine is a D8, so the MFD will be different, but still interested in the wiring you did etc
1999 D8.5 HDi GLX - Sold :(

2007 Mondingo Zetec - I seek forgiveness :( Bring back my 406

SE has a few bits my exec didnt get like the white dials with chrome rings, sat nav i didnt have it, chrome door handles, and the chrome exhaust tip.
But with the executive there is very little missing spec wise.
