406 wont stay locked
Hi, im needing sum advise again, my 2003 406 hdi wont stay locked, as soon as i lock it it unlocks its self again, dosnt matter if i use the key fob or key in the door, dos anyone no what could be wrong, thanks
Re: 406 wont stay locked
One of the door catches will probably be sticking. Maybe due to frost or needs some WD40 spraying inside the locking mechanism on each door.

"Understeer" is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"Oversteer" is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"Horsepower" is how fast you hit the fence.
"Torque" is how far you take the fence with you.

Re: 406 wont stay locked
You need to ensure all four doors, the bonnet, the boot, and the fuel filler cap are securely closed before you lock the car. As others have said, you need to check the mechanisms on each of these lockable points, and apply WD-40 liberally if any of them feel a bit stiff.
If that doesn't help, I'd get it in to a garage - it's not the sort of thing you just want to leave, in case some wee scrote-bag comes and nicks your motor.

Had the same problem in the cold weather last year trusty wd 40 into the lock sorted it .This year its the courtesy lights that dont work until the car is warmed up and my immobiliser buttons have to be pushed hard to register but when the car is warmed up they work perfectly
