406 exec fuel computer
hi all i have a 406 exec and can not seem to get anything else up but the outside temp on the display the guy who sold me it told me it had a fuel computer can anyone tell me if this was a extra or came on all the exec models i have the button to change iy but nothing happens when i press it thanks
Re: 406 exec fuel computer
It does have a trip computer but it's not wired up by default. There's a huge thread about retro-fitting in the electrical forum - a few of us have done it (some on multiple cars
). If the job's been done, it could have been disabled in order to sell the car with its OEM stereo (you can't have trip computer functionality AND the stereo display). To re-enable it, lever the display out and using a small screwdriver turn the switch on the steering wheel side round a notch.

ok done that got trip computer to come up but its telling me i got no fuel when i have half a tank any ideas
Re: 406 exec fuel computer
Yep, it means the trip computer's only been half retro-fitted. If you want the remaining fuel function, you'll have to do some wiring and intercept the fuel gauge sender from the dashboard connector. See the trip computer retro-fitting thread in the electrical forum for more details
